Hey guys! I've been having a blast on my first tour with Mountain Heart. We have been playing some great venues, and the show is really coming together. Check out this video of my first show. What a blast at Infinity Hall in Northfolk, CT! Enjoy! -Seth

I was so honored to share the stage with guitar legend Tony Rice, and banjo legend Terry Baucom last week for the first time. Mountain Heart played a series of shows in Georgia that featured two of my musical heros. Hope you enjoy this video of Tony's hit, "Manzanita"! -Seth

Nashville, TN (December 19, 2011)  --  For the past two years we have shared the road and the studio with a great guitarist and friend, Jake Stargel. After thousands of road miles and many great memories, ole “Sarge” (as we call him) has decided to pursue a different musical path. We understand and wish him all the best and remain friends.
Today, we are thrilled to announce that Seth Taylor, one of the most talented young “musicians” alive has officially joined Mountain Heart as our lead guitarist. We refer to Seth as “musician” rather than “guitarist” because he can play almost every instrument in the band, including steel and electric guitar and play it masterfully! Seth will allow us to stretch even farther musically and explore more ground in the coming years.
Seth has accomplished an awful lot in a very short period of time. Growing up in the mountains of North Carolina he was introduced to music at a very young age. He began playing guitar at age three and moved on to learn banjo and other stringed instruments by age eight. At the ripe old age of twelve he was playing in local bands and touring professionally by age fifteen. He has won fourteen (14) major performance awards in just five short years. Capturing the Best Guitarist Award from Merlefest proved he was ready to hang with the big boys musically and since then he has never looked back!

Jim VanCleve had this to say about the addition of Seth to our bands line-up. "I am very excited that Seth has chosen to join the Mountain Heart team.  I became intimately aware of Seth's multi-genre, multi-instrumental abilities while producing the last Monroeville project.  I can't think of anybody more equipped to step into the fray with us!"

Seth sums up his selection like this. “Being asked to join Mountain Heart is a huge honor! I have admired this band and their creativity since I was (8) years old. I know that getting to play with them every night will be an awesome experience and I can’t wait to get started!

Seth has shared the stage with the likes of the Charlie Daniels Band, Marty Raybon, Blue Highway, Tracy Byrd and Brad Paisley (his unofficial mentor) and in October of this year shared the Grand Ole Opry stage with us, in what was our 128th appearance. Most recently a member of the band Monroeville, Seth has gained a legion of devoted fans and made quite a name for himself in the music business and we couldn’t be more proud to welcome him to the Mountain Heart Family. His first gig will be a television appearance in Hartford, CT on January 5, 2012. For more information on Mountain Heart, visit, and stay up to date with Seth here at!

Seth will be performing with Monroeville all over Nashville during the International Bluegrass Music Association's "World of Bluegrass" week. The event takes place Sept. 27th-Oct. 2nd, and is held in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee! To see exactly where Seth and Monroeville will be, click here.

Seth had the honor of writing an instrumental with GRAMMY nominated producer and Mountain Heart musician Jim VanCleve for the Monroeville EP. The song is availible on iTunes. To download "Passive Aggresive" click here.
